  Meet the Registered Dietitians of HealthwayRI.  
  Registered Dietitians are food and nutrition experts. They have specialized education and credentials that set them apart from nutritionists and others who give advice about diets. The HealthWayRI Registered Dietitians are licensed by the State of Rhode Island and have decades of experience. Learn more about our team, below:  
     
  Peggy O’Neill, RD, CDE, CDOE  
 

Peggy O’Neill, RD, CDEA Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator, Peggy received her BS degree in Nutrition from the University of Rhode Island, then completed her Dietetic Internship at Barnes Medical Center in St Louis, Missouri.

Before joining HealthWayRI in 1982, Peggy served as Chief Dietitian at the Fatima Unit of St Joseph Hospital in North Providence. She has served on the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association, Diabetes Association, and the American Dietetic Association. Peggy has been actively involved in public policy concerning nutrition issues, and has lectured on weight management and medical nutrition therapy for heart disease and diabetes.

Peggy gets so much satisfaction out of seeing her clients succeed. She enjoys working closely with each individual, teaching them how to make basic and permanent lifestyle changes and tailoring meal plans to meet their unique needs.

 
     
  Patricia Sloss, MS, RD, LDN, CDOE  
 

Patricia Sloss, MS, RD, LDN, CDOEPatricia received her Master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts/Amhurst and her BS from Keene State College. A Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Outpatient Educator, she has worked in a variety of settings including medical offices, hospitals and community programs and people of all ages.

Patricia is a published author of “Prader-Willi and You”(a genetic syndrome that can lead to obesity in children) and a children’s cookbook. She has appeared on local TV programs and has contributed to the Air Force Family Child Care training and menu planning program. Her goal is to make a difference in the lives of patients through nutrition.

 
     
  Cathy Gervais, RN, BSN, CDE, CDOE  
 

Cathy Gervais, RN, BSN, CDECathy is a Registered Nurse, a Certified Diabetes Educator and a Behavioral Specialist with a focus on Diabetes Management, Weight Control and Smoking Cessation. After receiving her degree as a Registered Nurse at St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester, Massachusetts, she received her BS in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island.

After serving as a Cardiac Rehabilitation Clinician at the University of Massachusetts, she joined HealthWayRI in 1994 and has helped hundreds of patients make important lifestyle changes. Whether you need to better manage your diabetes, quit smoking or lose weight, Cathy is here for you. Her main goal is to assist you in making good decisions that promote good health and to teach you the skills you need for long term health and wellness.

 
     
  Diana Beaton, MS, RD, CDOE  
 

Diana Beaton, MS, RD, CDOEDiana received her BS in Nutrition from the State University of New York at Oneonta, and her Master’s degree from Tufts University in Boston. She completed her dietetic internship at the Francis Stern Nutrition Center at Tufts Medical Center in downtown Boston, and recently completed her training to become a Certified Diabetes Educator.

Building on her experience in motivational interviewing and health communications with the Rhode Island Department of Health and Human Services, Diana is now focused on helping people who have to make significant lifestyle changes, particularly in the area of nutrition.

Diana is a recent addition to the staff of HealthWayRI. She is already making valuable contributions to the health and overall wellness of her patients. Diana enjoys sharing her knowledge as a dietitian and her interest in cooking, exercise and living a healthy lifestyle.

 
     
  Jason Oliveira, MS, RD, LDN, CSCS, SPN  
 

Diana Beaton, MS, RD, CDOEJason received both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Nutrition and Food Science from the University Of Rhode Island. He gained in-patient and out-patient experience in Medical Nutrition Therapy through rotations at several Rhode Island hospitals during his Dietetic Internship.

Prior to coming to HealthWayRI Jason worked as a Corporate Trainer and Health Educator. He led weight-loss and stress-management classes, gave wellness-related lectures to large audiences nationwide and taught other professionals the science behind wellness.

Jason is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Specialist in Performance Nutrition. A former World Champion Powerlifter and a current Adventure-Racer, he merges knowledge with experience to not only help elite athletes reach new performance levels, but to also create enjoyable fitness plans for the non-athlete.

 
     
  Rebekah Tiexiera RD, LDN, CHHC  
 

Diana Beaton, MS, RD, CDOEA Registered Dietitian, Rebekah received her BS degree in Nutrition from Framingham State University in Massachusetts, completing the Coordinated Program in Dietetics. She has worked in a variety of settings including home health care, medical offices and a boarding school before joining HealthWay RI.

Rebekah is certified in Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell University and belongs to the Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine. She has earned her certification as a Holistic Health Counselor in a year-long program from Columbia. For the last ten years, she has taken part in yearly medical missions to Central America where she shares her knowledge of healthy eating habits for those most in need. Rebekah's passion lies in empowering people to take their health into their own hands by making conscious, informed choices when it comes to diet and lifestyle.

 
     
  Holly Holcombe, RD  
  Diana Beaton, MS, RD, CDOEA native of Texas, Holly graduated from Johnson & Wales University with a Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Nutrition. She went on to complete her dietetic internship at the University of Houston. Being active in team sports, along with long exposure to traditional southern cuisine, Holly's interest in food and nutrition sparked at an early age. Once in college, she took advantage of her time to gain experience in culinary arts and food application. She uses this knowledge, along with dietetics, to educate individuals on ways to provide healthy lifestyle changes through food and nutrition.
