When your patients need qualified dietitian services, you can trust HealthwayRI. Our Registered Dietitians have years of experience in providing medical nutrition therapy for patients of all ages. We work with Family Physicians, Ob/Gyns, Internists, Cardiologists, General and Bariatric Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Pediatricians throughout Rhode Island.
We offer these and other dietician services. All programs include an initial one-hour assessment plus at least two follow-up visits, all usually reimbursed by medical insurance:
- Introduction to Diabetes – Our Diabetes Educators can help your patients lose weight, lower A1c numbers and often reduce medication requirements. Our team works with people with prediabetes and patients who take insulin.
- Pregnancy Nutrition – Here, the emphasis is on ensuring proper nutrition for each trimester, while preventing gestational diabetes and inappropriate weight gain.
- Geriatric Nutrition – Weight loss in the elderly can be dangerous, often signaling significant sarcopenia, which can occur even in the presence of obesity. Our dietitians can provide a diet that will ensure an adequate supply of protein and amino acids.
- 10 % Weight Loss - For patients on your surgical roster, a 10% loss in weight can significantly reduce operative morbidity and mortality, while reducing post-op complications. Following initial evaluation, our dietitians guide the patient towards expedited weight loss by focusing on a low carbohydrate diet with enhanced protein.
- Cardiovascular Risk Reduction – Hypertensive? Pre-diabetic? Insulin resistant? High triglycerides? Low HDL? Very often a diet having the right macronutrient composition can improve lipids and insulin levels, thus reducing your patients’ risk of heart attack or stroke. Our dietitians can help your patients make the lifestyles changes that count.
- Just for kids – and pre-teens and teens. Pediatricians know that nutrition is a critical factor in the proper development of children of all ages. We can help create an environment that will ensure the nutritional health of your patients in their daily life both at home and in school.
